This is the largest of all the swimming lakes, situation 42 miles east of the house. Its a fantastic day out with a picnic. Parking can be limited but the access is very easy. The town also has lots of nice restaurants. There is a restaurant at the lake, but my preference when going here is to take a picnic. Eguzon also has a water slide for the little ones and a crazy trampoline in high season.
Eguzon also makes for an excellent bike ride out if you have family meeting you there.
La Puye is great for a quick afternoon out if you want to squeeze in an activity - or you can stay all day. Its only a short distance from the house, (west about 10k) - its a nice run or cycle out if not too hot. There is a superb restaurant there - but be warned - dont try and use their 'Facilities' unless you buy something - they get very agitated.
There is a great water slide here open in high season, the water is clean and you can walk around teh lake with dogs. You can also take the kayaks here.

This is probably the most popular beach. It is up in the main Lake region, stunningly beaturiful and great fun. Plenty of parking. Lots of picnic tables in the shade (if you get there early enough to get one!) The water is excellent and they host inflatable slides for the kids in hugh season, you can hire Paddle boats, they have a restaurant (basic). Again, great for a picnic and fantastic to cycle to / from as its stunning route on perfect roads built for road biking. It is 28 miles north east of the house.
